This is an antique plaster cast from P.P. Caproni & Brother, a legendary Boston workshop that produced extremely high-quality reproductions between the late 19th and early 20th centuries, so much so that they were supplied to major museums such as the Boston Museum of Fine Arts and the Metropolitan Museum of Art. [Key Features] • Proof of Authenticity: The original oval metal tag (P.P. CAPRONI & BRO. PLASTIC ARTS BOSTON), which Caproni & Brother attached to prove their work at the time, remains on the bottom. • Historical Value: Caproni & Brother's plaster casts are still highly regarded as collector's items today and are a cultural heritage that tells the history of Boston. • Provenance: This is a cherished item that my grandmother, who lived in the United States for many years, purchased locally and carefully brought back to Japan by ship when she returned. [Condition] It features a beautiful patina (antique color/texture) unique to antiques, which can only be achieved over many years. While there are surface scuffs and paint peeling consistent with its age, there is no significant structural damage, and it remains in very good condition as a vintage item.
