This sageo (sword knot) is meticulously crafted by an artist with 15 years of Iaidō experience, using Sanada-himo. This product is made from durable cotton Sanada-himo (bag weave) from Sumiya Weaving Mill, a long-established workshop in Kanazawa. Each piece is individually finished into a sageo by hand. Sanada-himo is a cord woven with warp and weft threads, and its characteristics of resistance to friction and pulling have led to its widespread use since ancient times for the cords of boxes storing tea ceremony utensils and for sword sageo. It also develops a unique texture with use. The length is a standard 240 cm for Japanese swords and Iaidō swords, and the width is 1.2 cm. As it is made of high-quality Sanada-himo, you can cut it to your desired length and use it as an obi-jime (sash cord) or for handmade crafts. Some people also use it as a chidome (blood stopper) for portable shrines. It can be easily threaded through most kurigata (pommel knobs) without snagging. Please note that there may be slight variations in length due to the crafting process. The appearance may vary slightly depending on your screen settings and brightness. We kindly ask for your understanding that this is a handmade item before purchasing. The item will be shipped in a padded envelope via Rakuraku Mercari Bin (Nekoposu). It will be delivered to your mailbox, so you can receive it at any time without the hassle of redelivery. Shipping is free. Please allow 1-2 days for shipping as we may need some time to prepare your order. #SanadaHimo #Sageo #Shimo #ShibunHimo #Iaido #IaidoSword #JapaneseSword #ReplicaSword #PracticeSword #MoonShadowFloatingCloud Click here for the manufacturer's site
