This item is a vintage P&H Quality Service watch fob, an industrial advertising collectible from the Harnischfeger Corporation of Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Item Details Purpose: Traditionally used as a decorative weight at the end of a pocket watch chain, making the watch easier to pull from a pocket. Imagery: The metal fob features an embossed P&H power shovel or dragline crane, representing the heavy machinery manufactured by the company. Branding: It bears the Quality P&H Service logo in red and white enamel. The reverse side of similar fobs often lists company information like Cranes & Excavators Unlimited. Materials: Typically made of a non-magnetic silver-toned metal (such as brass or bronze with plating) attached to a leather strap with a metal buckle. History and Value Origin: Harnischfeger Corporation (founded as Pawling & Harnischfeger in 1884) was a major manufacturer of electric cranes and mining equipment.
