Thank you for viewing. [Product Description] This is a very rare antique photograph of Mt. Bukō, a solitary peak towering over Chichibu City and Yokose Town in Saitama Prefecture. It is one of Japan's 200 famous mountains and has long been an object of faith and reverence in the surrounding region. The photograph is believed to have been taken sometime between the Meiji and early Taisho periods. It is said that Mt. Bukō was not developed until the Taisho period, as it protected Chichibu from the Meiji era. Development as a limestone quarry began in earnest in the late Taisho period. This is likely a very rare, one-of-a-kind photograph of Mt. Bukō taken by an individual before quarrying began. ★Size: Width approx. 40cm, Height approx. 32.5cm [Product Condition] As this is a photograph over 100 years old, there are scuffs, scratches, stains, and dirt. However, the photograph itself is in good condition and is relatively clean. As this is an antique, old photograph, please refrain from purchasing if you are overly concerned about minor details, to avoid any trouble. Please check the images to confirm the condition of the item. If you wish to leave a comment, please be sure to check your profile. ★A photograph from February 2026 will also be attached. (The black thick border is the current photograph.) This is a very precious photograph, as the same scene can never be captured again. We cannot accept refunds or returns after purchase to protect the item. Thank you for your understanding. Please consider purchasing only if you understand and agree with the description above and our profile, and if you have an appreciation for antique and vintage items.
