Add a pop of Mid-Century glamour to your collection with this stunning signed DODDS cat brooch. This piece features a sophisticated jelly belly inspired design, utilizing two large, brilliant fuchsia-to-ruby red faceted glass crystals for the head and body. Dodds (also known as Jewel Creations) was renowned for high-quality costume jewelry in the 1950s and 60s, and this figural feline is a prime example of their playful yet elegant craftsmanship. Clear Pear-cut Rhinestone ears and a sparkling Pavé Rhinestone collar. Circa 1960s Excellent Vintage Condition: The glass crystals are bright and free of major chips or scratches. The gold-tone plating is vibrant. The pin stem and safety clasp are in working order. Collectors of 1960s figural jewelry prize Dodds pieces for their use of brilliant Austrian-style crystals and heavy gold-plating. While Dodds is famous for Christmas trees, their 'faceted glass' animals—especially in this vibrant ruby fuchsia—are harder to find and highly collectible.
