Henning Norway Hand Carved Wood Folk Art Sámi Girl Figurine, Vintage Circa 1970s #henning #norway #norwegian #scandinavian #woodcarving #artisanal #nordic #folkart This enchanting folk art wood carved figurine by HENNING blends history, artistry and charm. HENNING is a Norwegian wood-carving brand, created by Henning Engelsen, an artist and craftsman of artisanal hand-carved designs. The figurine sculptures are hand-carved, and hand painted with great attention to detail using traditional flat-plane whittling style so that no two pieces are exactly alike. This carved wood figurine, a young maiden girl in a seated position, is colorful in traditional Norwegian Sámi clothing. The Sámi are Indigenous nomadic people of northern Scandinavia. She is dressed in a gákti folk outfit including a loose tunic, nutukas boots with curled toes and a red Jorbat, the hat with the big ears. She is enchanting, with a joyful expression. Sitting at 4 high, this figurine is ready to add Nordic charm to any space. Condition: • Good Vintage Condition. Some wear, aging. Imperfections mostly from the artisanal maker's process, adding to the charm of the vintage piece. Bottom Stamped/Burnished HENNING; Vintage Circa 1970s • Some photos, the red is very bold, IRL it is more muted. About: • Henning of Norway Wood-Carved Figurine • Figural, Young Girl, Sitting • Hand Carved Wood • Hand Painted • Multi-Color Off-White, Brown, Red, Blue, Yellow • Approx. 4 H x 4 W x 3.5 D • 4 oz.
