NO.526 ⭕️ Akama Inkstone, Large Size with Lid, Over 20cm ⭕️ Large, Made by Seifu, Brand New, Excellent Condition [1] Length: 207mm (Lid: 154mm) [2] Width: 140mm (Lid: 93mm) [3] Thickness: 33mm Weight: 2,327g (Lid: 32mm Weight: 676g) [4] Artisan: Seifu [5] Carved Signature: Akama Stone, Seifu [6] Box: Paulownia Wood Tomobako (Lid has Meiseki Akama Suzuri Seifu stamped) (265 x 178 x 111mm) ① 1 Sheet: Origin of Akama Inkstone, a Traditional Craftwork ② 1 Sheet: Akama Inkstone in History ③ 1 Yellow Cloth ④ 1 Red-Purple Cloth ⑤ 1 Purple Cord ⑥ 1 Wrapping Paper [7] Condition: Brand New, Excellent Condition [8] Design: Nomori Inkstone with Lid, Carved with Plum Blossoms ◉ Akama Inkstone, a unique and deeply flavorful red inkstone in Japan, is characterized not only by its color but also by its fine, hard, dense stone quality and beautiful surface. ◉ This piece features three plum blossoms and eight buds carved elegantly on the upper part of the inkstone's rim. A winding branch is carved on the right side of the rim, and the roots of the plum tree are carved at the bottom right. The area near the rim has been meticulously textured with stippling to create a matte finish, indicating extra craftsmanship. The lid, with a single plum blossom as a knob, enhances the ink-holding capacity. The stone pattern consists of a light azuki bean color mixed sporadically on a dark azuki bean base, characteristic of Akama stone. A thin, light blue-green pattern of about 2mm is visible on the tongue, adding to its uniqueness. Furthermore, the lid of the paulownia wood box bears a proud, soft, and flowing brushstroke, a testament to the artisan's skill, along with a stamp. This is undoubtedly a very large and attractive work of art, suitable for both use and display as a craft. Please consider it. We welcome your comments. *Please rest assured that we will pack it carefully to prevent any breakage. ◉ References Shiunseki Suzuri: Tetsusaburo Sato, Yukio, Tetsuji, Zuiken, Ogatsu Suzuri, Toryusai, Moriyuki Endo, Hiroyuki, Abata Suzuri, Mine Suzuri, Horyukaku Suzuri, Hōseki, Amabata Suzuri, Seiken Amamiya, Hyōbei, Yataro, Nabekura Ryukei Suzuri, Shuseki, Wakada Suzuri, Takada Suzuri, Takashima Torafuku Suzuri, Morotsuka Ishi Suzuri, Hōraiji Suzuri, Hōzan, Kokuji Suzuri, Tosa Suzuri, Nachiguro Suzuri, Tamaishi, Kōhō, Akama Suzuri, Takushi, Shinobu, Dinsai, Gyohō, Toshio, Yoichi, Tamaikiken, Shoryuzan, Yuishi, Benkeiseki Suzuri, Baiyo, Yodo, Yakushima Suzuri *Please check the images thoroughly. *Please refrain from purchasing if you are seeking perfection or are overly sensitive. *Please be sure to read my profile. *⭕️ Please view the works I have listed so far.
