This is a rare woodblock print by Meiji-era ukiyo-e artist Yasuji Inoue (Yasuji Tankei). The title of the work is Tokyo Shinga Meisho Zukai: Asakusa Higashimon Ato (Illustrated Famous Places of Tokyo: Asakusa East Gate Ruins). This masterpiece depicts a snow scene full of Yasuji's characteristic emotion, with a rickshaw and footprints of passersby strikingly rendered amidst a silver world. The signature Anji is present in the lower right corner, indicating it is an original print from the period. The Kōsen-ga (light painting) technique, inherited from his master Kiyochika Kobayashi, brilliantly expresses the serene winter atmosphere. Please note that there are damages characteristic of old paper products, such as age-related toning, wrinkles, and slight chips at the edges of the paper. Please check the posted images for details on the condition. We are offering this antique item, which conveys the spirit of the Meiji era, to those who can appreciate it. In addition to its value as a historical document, its subdued color palette makes it a striking piece for interior decoration in Japanese-style or modern spaces, as well as for art collections. Size: Please refer to the ruler in the image (approximately 16cm x 10cm, koban size). This is a great opportunity for those interested in ukiyo-e, antique art, traditional crafts, Japanese paintings, vintage prints, or collectors who love the history of Asakusa and old townscapes.
