Wonderful one-of-a-kind vintage recipe binder filled with decades of handwritten recipes, magazine and newspaper clippings, advertisements, cooking pages, and homemaking ephemera. This appears to have been assembled and used over many years, making it a fascinating little time capsule of American cooking and homemaking. Most of the recipes are for desserts and baked goods. Included are Handwritten recipe dated December 1937 * Numerous handwritten family-style recipes * Vintage magazine and newspaper recipe clippings * Dessert, pie, cake and cookie recipes * Vintage Christmas cookie pages and decorating ideas * “Bride’s Dinner Diary” cooking/menu feature * Mid-century spring cleaning and household tips * Vintage food and appliance advertising * 1950 Wear-Ever coffeemaker advertisement * Nabisco Shredded Wheat advertisement * 1964 General Electric Bake-Off Range advertisement * Woman’s Day Kitchen / Collector’s Cookbook pages * Assorted loose recipe cards, notes and clippings Condition: This is a genuinely old, well-used collection and is being sold as found. The binder itself shows substantial age and wear. Contents vary greatly in condition and may have yellowing, staining, discoloration, tears, brittle or chipped edges, creases, separated pieces and other age-related wear. Some pages and clippings are fragile. The collection is not represented as complete or organized. These imperfections are part of its history and vintage character.
