A sweet little mid-century catchall that still has its original plastic liner intact. The gold tone wire frame has a twisted rope handle fixed in place, with a looped scrollwork body sitting on three tapered feet. The insert bowl is a warm copper brown, stamped on the base Peoria Plastic Co, East Peoria, Ill, USA, a maker known for producing colorful kitchenware bowls and cups through the mid-century decades. That mark, paired with the gilt wirework style, points to a 1960s origin. Perfect for nuts, candy, small fruit, or as a catchall for keys and jewelry on a console table. The looped wire base gives it a decorative, almost sculptural look even when set down. Measures 7.75 inches tall with the handle up, bowl is 5.5 inches across. Condition: The handle is fixed in place. The wire frame shows minor patina throughout with light age-appropriate wear. The plastic bowl has a few faint scuffs from age but no cracks or chips, and sits securely in the frame. Every piece has a past. Find yours. Sarah / The Storied House Co.
