This is a small, beautiful antique chest adorned with Korean traditional craft Najeonchilgi (mother-of-pearl inlay). Please note that the screw on the left door (14th photo) is missing, but the door can still be opened and closed. Please check the photos for further details. The black lacquer body is decorated with mother-of-pearl inlay of flowers, butterflies, and birds, creating an elegant and deep luster. This piece makes a statement as a jewelry box, a small item storage, or a decorative collector's item. Najeonchilgi (Mother-of-Pearl Inlay) Small Storage Chest ▶ 1950s-1960s (Post-war to early high-growth period) Items from this era in Korea are considered valuable as semi-craftsmanship pieces from before mass production, as the black lacquer is deep. Originally used as a medicine chest for storing traditional Korean medicine, valuables, seals, and accessories. Features double doors, 3 small drawers inside, and a drawer at the bottom. Although miniature in size, its structure is a scaled-down version of authentic furniture. We kindly ask for your understanding of antique and vintage items when making your purchase after carefully reviewing the photos. It comes with the original box latch with decorative hardware (slide type) and a flat key. Korean traditional craft, Najeonchilgi, is a highly prestigious art form.
