This is an antique wooden storage cabinet, likely from the Meiji or Taisho period, with a very distinctive character. The back features a strong brand mark (or stamp) that reads **Yamagata Police Station Seal**, indicating that it was actually used at the Yamagata Police Station for organizing and storing documents and ledgers. This makes it a truly exceptional piece with significant historical value. Product Features: • Historical Seal: The Yamagata Police Station Seal on the back testifies to the history this furniture has witnessed. Its sturdy and functional construction, typical of furniture used in public institutions, is a key appeal. • Craftsmanship: Heavy iron fittings are attached to the corners, ensuring durability and creating a rugged, cool industrial aesthetic. • Practical Design: The upper section has dividers for upright document storage, and the lower section features two drawers with keyholes. Original paper slips labeled Documents remain in the drawers, allowing you to experience the atmosphere of the era. • Cedar Wood Texture: The wood grain (believed to be cedar), deepened by the passage of many years, offers a calm texture that blends well with modern interiors.
