(Limited to areas covered by Mercari's shipping service) ◆1890's Victorian Church Chair w/Bible Back Holder A chair used in a church in the 19th century. ◆ Over 100 years of presence ◆ The cross is carved in a clover shape. ■ This is a chair that was used in a church sanctuary. There are various types, such as those with a cross design carved into them, and those with a pocket on the back to hold a Bible. ■ To allow for long periods of sitting in church, the seat of the chair is carved into a curved shape that follows the contours of the hips. ✨ I purchased these chairs in bulk from an antique shop in Kachidoki about 30 years ago. At the time, they cost around ¥40,000 each. ✨ I used them as dining chairs in my home. I will send you the cleanest chair possible with minimal wobbling. ✨ It has a heavy, substantial feel with a dark brown color like walnut. ✨ The backrest to the legs are made from a single piece, creating a beautiful curved design. (While many church chairs have a cross cutout, I believe the clover cutout is rare.) ✨ The box on the backrest, designed to hold a Bible, is a lovely feature. ✨ In addition to being a chair, it can also be used to display flowers or simply as an interior piece to add a stylish touch to your room. Size: Backrest height: approx. 41cm Seat height: approx. 43cm Depth: approx. 38cm Width: approx. 38cm Overall height: approx. 82cm ◎ Please understand that there may be some errors in measurements as chair dimensions can be difficult to measure precisely. ◎ ⚠️ There are scratches, dirt, discoloration, etc. due to age. (Please only purchase if you understand and appreciate antique, vintage, and old items.) ◆ As this item has been used in a home, please refrain from purchasing if you are sensitive or seeking a perfect item. #AntiqueChair #Antique #ChurchChair #DiningChair #Chair #AntiqueChair #Church #Chair #Bible #Karimoku #WoodenFurniture #VintageFurniture #NordicFurniture #Vintage #UK #Europe #Display #Interior #Goods #Cafe #Fixtures #Country #Natural #French Click here for the manufacturer's site
