Studio Pottery Large Cylindrical Vase with Lava Glaze Texture Vintage, Mid-Century Modern / Brutalist Style This substantial studio pottery vase exemplifies the Brutalist movement in mid-century ceramics, featuring an exceptionally heavy, cratered lava glaze that provides deep tactile and visual interest. The piece is characterized by its tall, slender cylindrical form which is accented by organic vertical drips of sea-green and deep oxblood glazes, creating a striking contrast against the pale, sandy-textured body typical of experimental 20th-century pottery. • Hand-thrown stoneware construction with a coarse, sand-like exterior texture • Reactive glaze application featuring vertical green and dark red drip motifs • Classic bottle-neck silhouette with a slightly flared lip and tapered neck • Measures approximately 12.5 tall and 4.5 in diameter Condition: Very good vintage condition. The structural integrity is excellent with no visible cracks, chips, or repairs. The heavy texture of the glaze is consistent with the artist's original intent. The unglazed terracotta base shows natural clay coloration and includes three protective rubber bumper pads for surface stability. Interior appears clean and free of heavy residue.
