The 'Najade' series was designed by Per Lütken for Holmegaard Glassworks in Denmark during the mid-20th century. Lütken was one of Denmark's most celebrated glass designers, working with Holmegaard from 1942 until his death in 1998. His designs exemplified Scandinavian modernism with organic forms and innovative use of color and light. The Najade series featured distinctive swirling patterns in opalescent glass, creating an ethereal, water-inspired aesthetic that became iconic of Danish design. Najade pieces are highly sought after by collectors of Scandinavian glass and mid-century modern design enthusiasts. The combination of Lütken's artistic vision, Holmegaard's exceptional craftsmanship, and the timeless beauty of the opalescent swirl patterns make these pieces valuable both as functional objects and as works of art. Collectors appreciate the pieces for their elegant simplicity, the quality of the glass work, and their representation of the golden age of Scandinavian design.
