A beautiful, handmade bobbin lace doily in the style of Cluny lace from Le Puy, France. The delicate, snowflake-like dots and pom-poms create a charming floral motif, reminiscent of a snowy landscape. The octagonal center piece is crafted from a very supple and smooth, high-quality fine-count linen fabric. The open-cutwork eyelets along the stems of the leaves offer a natural and airy feel, perhaps even a cool sensation in the summer. The lace is made from a medium-fine linen thread, likely bobbin-tatted, with a subtle sheen and luster. The fabric has a gauze-like texture, feeling both smooth and soft to the touch. The rim features four chrysanthemum-like flowers, possibly cornflowers or pinks. The openwork mesh gauze-like weave and the line bridges spanning the spaces create a cool aesthetic. The edge is finished with picot lace embroidery. The color is an elegant and clean antique ecru, a gentle ivory tone.
