Antique Mother of Pearl Open-Circle Brooch (c. 1895–1910) Beautiful antique mother of pearl brooch with a simple open-circle design and early pin construction. The front has a soft pearly white sheen with natural variation throughout the shell. The reverse still shows portions of the original outer shell layer, giving the piece an organic look and showing how it was cut from natural shell. Features: * Genuine mother of pearl / natural shell * Approx. 1 1/2” across * Early open-style clasp with long pin stem * Original antique hardware * Natural shell coloring and inclusions * Soft iridescent finish Condition: Good antique condition for its age. There are natural inclusions, surface irregularities, edge chips, and a visible line/crack near the pin attachment. Despite the age-related wear and inclusions, the brooch still feels sturdy and the pin mechanism remains functional. Please review all close-up photos for condition. A beautiful late Victorian to early Edwardian piece with lots of character, perfect for an antique jewelry collector or anyone who loves natural shell jewelry.
