This is a genuine US Air Force (USAF) K-2B flying suit, manufactured on July 24, 1963. It's a highly sought-after black tag specimen in the collector's market. The contract conforms to MIL-S-6265C & AMEND.2, clearly verifying it as an authentic government-issue item from that era. Manufactured by COVINGTON INDUSTRIES, INC. This model dates from the early to mid-period of K-2B production and meets the same specifications as those used during the Vietnam War. The size is MEDIUM SHORT, a golden size that tends to fit well with Japanese body types. The material is cotton poplin. It's a lightweight specification from before Nomex was adopted, and as the VERY LIGHT designation suggests, it's characterized by high breathability, designed for tropical and subtropical environments. The unique texture and aging of this era possess a charm that replicas cannot replicate. In recent years, the availability of K-2B suits has been steadily decreasing, and black tag specimens from the early 1960s are becoming increasingly scarce in the market. This piece holds significant value not only for collection but also for actual wear as a piece of real vintage clothing. It is expected that well-preserved specimens with matching era, tag, and size will become even more difficult to obtain in the future. This is a must-have opportunity for military enthusiasts and flight gear collectors. Size: Medium Short Click here for the manufacturer's site
