A fascinating piece of early office innovation, this B.E. Lawrence 4-in-1 Executive Calendar Pad combines Art Deco design with a patented mechanical system created to keep appointments, notes, and confidential information out of sight when not in use. The self-closing cover automatically conceals the writing surface, a clever privacy feature designed for executives, lawyers, accountants, bankers, and other professionals who regularly met with clients and visitors. With its faux alligator finish, brass-tone metal construction, and ingenious ring-bound filing system, it feels like something straight off the desk of a 1930s executive. Equally at home in a dark academia study, vintage office collection, library, law office, or industrial-inspired workspace. A wonderful conversation piece for collectors of Art Deco desk accessories, early productivity tools, office antiques, and unusual patented inventions. Marked B.E. Lawrence & Co., Chicago. Features the original patented self-closing mechanism and metal ring filing system. The cover can also be locked open using the small lever integrated into the mechanism. Shows age-appropriate wear, patina, and surface marks consistent with age and use. Please review photos carefully for condition details. Measures approximately 7 x 5.5 x 1.5 Weight: 24 oz Art Deco • Executive Office • Dark Academia • Industrial Decor • Library Study 📸 Color may vary slightly from screen to screen. 🐩 Smoke-free home with one hypoallergenic poodle.
