Authentic World War II-era British Royal Navy brass ship lantern, marked PATT. 16042 and believed to have been manufactured by Best & Lloyd Ltd. circa 1941. “PATT.” refers to an Admiralty Pattern number, the system used by the British Admiralty to identify standardized naval equipment. This compact, heavily constructed lantern was designed for maritime signal/navigation use rather than ordinary domestic lighting. It has intentionally not been aggressively polished, preserving the character of the surface. Approximate measurements: 11 tall including hanging hooks 4.5 maximum diameter Glass globe approximately 3 diameter Weight: just over 3 lb A striking piece of genuine maritime history for a Royal Navy, WWII, nautical, military, maritime or naval collection. It also makes an exceptional display pi
