Ballistic Protection Capabilities: Generally possesses performance equivalent to US NIJ Level III (equivalent to III+) to Level IV. This level reliably stops high-velocity rifle rounds from rifles (e.g., 7.62mm NATO rounds, 5.56mm rounds from AK-47s, etc.). ◎Basic Properties and Differences of Materials, and Properties of This Product◎ UHMWPE (Ultra-High Molecular Weight Polyethylene) Pros: Extremely lightweight (floats on water), high tensile strength, excellent impact and abrasion resistance. Hydrophobic and chemically stable. Cons: Low melting point (130-150°C) resulting in low heat resistance, prone to creep (stretching under prolonged load). Aramid Fiber Pros: High tensile strength, excellent heat resistance (decomposition temperature approx. 500°C), flame retardant, high structural rigidity. Cons: Heavier than UHMWPE, hygroscopic (absorbs moisture), degrades from UV radiation, low abrasion resistance. Benefits of UHMWPE + Aramid Hybridization (This Product) By combining their advantages, this product achieves the following: Lightweight yet Tough Protection: With aramid placed on the top layer to flatten bullet tips and block heat, the underlying UHMWPE efficiently absorbs and disperses the bullet's kinetic energy, maximizing ballistic performance while remaining lightweight. Simultaneous Resistance to Heat and Impact: Aramid's heat resistance prevents UHMWPE from softening, while UHMWPE's impact resistance compensates for aramid's brittleness. Resistance to Puncture, Cutting, and Abrasion: By blending the two fibers, a balance of cut and abrasion resistance is achieved, which is difficult with a single material. This is a next-generation ballistic plate sought after by soldiers pursuing the highest level of performance and balance. Modern protective gear (such as body armor) commonly uses a layered construction of aramid fabric and UD (unidirectional) UHMWPE, achieving a high degree of comfort and protection.
