Rare and beautiful piece of European kitchen history! This is an authentic antique ceramic/stoneware sugar kitchen storage canister made by Staffel Steingutfabrik in Germany. Dating to approximately the late 1930s to early WWII era, this hard-to-find piece features the highly collectible Dec. 706 pattern. It showcases a striking cobalt blue geometric motif consisting of lattice work, dotted lines, and triangles, paired with bold black Art Deco block lettering in English. Comes complete with its original matching architectural square handle lid. A beautiful, functional statement piece perfect for vintage kitchen display, Art Deco collections, or adding European farmhouse charm to your home decor. Measurements: - Height (with lid): Approx. 8 inches - Width: Approx. 4.5 inches Condition: Great antique condition for its age and fragile nature. The cobalt graphics and lettering remain incredibly sharp and bold. The base features an embossed W mark along with the original blue ink stamped Dec.706 pattern number and Staffel Germany logo. Shows authentic age wear including minor glaze flea bites on the sharp corners, small dings around the interior nesting rims, and a faint glaze hairline on the underside, all completely consistent with a WWII-era utility piece. Clean interior.
