This is a tea bowl crafted by my father, who has been practicing the Way of Tea and pottery for many years. As it is made from the perspective of a tea master, it is a unique piece that combines practicality, such as a comfortable weight, ease of whisking tea, and a pleasant rim for drinking. [Features of the Work] * Expressive Glaze: The entire bowl features beautiful crackling (kannyu), and as you use it, the tea will seep in, allowing you to enjoy the process of it maturing into a more flavorful piece. * Beautiful Kiln Change (Yohen): A mystical blue hue, born from the chemical reactions of the flame, appears in parts of the glaze, creating a visually stunning scenery. * Shape: The bowl has a slightly flattened shape with a wide opening, making the green of the tea stand out vividly. It is also perfect for whisking tea refreshingly in the coming seasons. * Foot (Kodai): The potter's seal of my father is carved on the side of the robustly carved foot. [Size] * Diameter: Approx. 13.5 cm * Height: Approx. 6.0 cm [Condition] New and unused. As each piece is handmade, we hope to offer it to those who appreciate the warmth of the clay, the unevenness of the glaze, and the slight distortions that are unique to handmade items, which cannot be found in mass-produced products. We recommend this bowl not only for those who practice the Way of Tea but also as a small bowl for everyday use or as a gift for someone special. It will be carefully packed with cushioning material and shipped. Click here for the manufacturer's site
