Thank you for viewing. This is a natsume (tea caddy) crafted using the authentic lacquerware technique Tsuishu (carved lacquer). I am offering it to someone who will cherish it, as I am downsizing my collection. [Features] • Intricate Carving: Peonies, symbols of wealth and known as the King of a Hundred Flowers, are luxuriously carved from the lid to the sides. • Tsuishu Technique: This is a highly labor-intensive traditional craft where patterns are created by carving into layers of red lacquer applied repeatedly. • Texture: The depth of the carving and the moist texture characteristic of lacquer suggest this is an authentic Tsuishu (lacquerware) piece. The raised and lowered surfaces from the carving fit comfortably in the hand. The interior is finished with a beautiful black lacquer, creating a design that makes the green of matcha stand out exceptionally well. [Size] Diameter approx. 6.5 cm, Height approx. 7 cm [Product Condition] • There are no noticeable scratches or chips, and the item is in beautiful condition with a glossy finish overall. • The interior is also kept clean. Please only purchase if you understand that this is a vintage item kept in home storage. [Shipping] As this is a tea utensil, it will be carefully protected with waterproofing and cushioning material (bubble wrap) and shipped via YuYu Mercari便. #TeaUtensils #Natsume #Tsuishu #Lacquerware #Peony #TraditionalCraft #Urasenke #Omotesenke #TeaCeremonyPractice Click here for the manufacturer's site
