Original August 1944 issue of **Flying Magazine**, Volume 35, Number 2, published during World War II. The striking front cover features a formation of Lockheed P-38 Lightning aircraft and promotes the issue's **Report on the Air Invasion.** This issue contains extensive WWII aviation material, including articles on the air invasion, aerial combat, the B-29, Flying Fortress bailout procedures, military aviation training, aircraft production and aircraft identification. An illustrated identification section features Allied and Axis aircraft including the Martin Mariner, Supermarine Spitfire IX, Messerschmitt Me-109E and Yak-1. The back cover features a particularly attractive full-color **Lockheed Aircraft Corporation Pickled Lightning advertisement** showing a Lockheed Lightning undergoing service. **Condition:** Vintage pre-owned condition with age-related wear. The cover shows some edge/corner wear, surface wear and small marks consistent with an approximately 80-year-old magazine. Interior pages show normal age toning. Please review all photographs carefully as they are part of the condition description. Measures approx. 8 1/2 x 11 1/2 A wonderful original WWII aviation collectible with excellent military aircraft imagery, period advertising and wartime aviation content.
