Striking vintage Catholic devotional wall plaque featuring the Sacred Heart of Jesus, with a translucent deep red heart centerpiece bearing the traditional IHS Christogram and cross. The ornate gold-tone metal plaque features radiating rays, openwork heart motifs and raised “MY JESUS MERCY” lettering. A small opening at the top allows the piece to be hung as a devotional wall or shrine plaque. Includes its original burgundy presentation box with pink/magenta satin lining — an especially nice find with the original packaging still present. Approximately 6.5 tall x 5.25 wide. Details: * Vintage Catholic devotional plaque * Sacred Heart of Jesus * IHS Christogram with cross * Raised “MY JESUS MERCY” lettering * Gold-tone metal construction * Deep red translucent heart centerpiece * Openwork heart and radiating sunburst design * Hanging hole at top * Original satin-lined presentation box included * Sometimes described in the vintage market as an ex-voto, shrine plaque, convent plaque or casket/coffin devotional plaque Very good vintage condition. The red heart has some very faint surface scuffing, primarily noticeable under close inspection/direct light. Original box shows age-related exterior edge and surface wear. Please see photos for condition. A beautiful and unusual piece of vintage Catholic devotional art, suitable for a home altar, prayer space, religious collection or vintage ecclesiastical display.
