A rare model, a collaboration between K.Yairi and Kurosawa Gakki RF-KK7-OVA BS, Made in 2014 [Discontinued] More details can be found here: https://www.kurosawagakki.com/kyairi/kk7/ ● Top: Solid Spruce ● Body: Ovangkol ● Scale Length: 635mm ● Nut Width: 42mm ● Saddle Thickness: 3mm ● Tuners: Gotoh SG301-01-C ● Features Airy Bracing ● Body and Headstock: Gloss Finish ● Neck Back: Matte Finish ● Ivory Color Binding ◎ Pickup Added: FISHMAN Neo-D Humbucking (Passive) Scale length changed from 645mm to 635mm. Very easy to play! Airy Bracing (10th image) Used in RF series, K7 series, etc. This specification involves drilling holes in the bracing to allow the top plate to vibrate more freely and produce sound efficiently. Despite its small size, it has a very powerful sound. Ovangkol is similar to rosewood, with a firmer and brighter mid-high range. For live performances, I found it troublesome to attach the FISHMAN Neo-D every time, so I asked Mr. Matsuo at Yairi to install it during a repair. It's passive and has an acoustic sound, so a DI is sufficient. The repair involved fixing the pin hole (it was tight) and lowering the string height as much as possible. At the 12th fret, the string height for both the 1st and 6th strings is around 1.5-1.8mm, making it very easy to play single notes even on higher frets. Original retail price was ¥99,000. According to a Kurosawa Gakki representative who was present during its production, the quality of this instrument would be impossible to achieve at this price if made today. It lacks the angel logo on the headstock and the burn mark on the body top found on regular RF series models, giving it a more understated look. I'm also glad it's not a satin finish. Comes with a dedicated hard case. I have too many guitars and no space, and I'm not playing live as much anymore, so I'm decluttering and keeping only my D-type. I also bought a 12-string... Strings used: DADDARIO XTAPB1253 XT Acoustic Phosphor Bronze Light They have been on for six months. #K.Yairi #RF #KK7 Ships from our center via Kuroneko Yamato delivery service. The pins have been replaced. I have added photos from when it was original (these will be included). Click here for the manufacturer's site
