Up for sale is a beautiful, authentic vintage ceramic lidded sugar bowl or jam jar from Ceramika Wiza, handcrafted in Poland. This unique figural canister is shaped like a plump pear, complete with a beautifully sculpted cobalt blue stem and leaf handle on the lid. The design features a lovely cream background adorned with dainty blue polka dots and a striking landscape border of sponge-stamped cobalt trees along the bottom rim. Based on the backstamp and style, this piece dates back to the 1990s production era. The bottom features the official stamped logo for Wiza Poland, along with the text Echt Bunzlau and the pattern number 20. Wiza is one of the most respected traditional Polish pottery manufacturers, established in 1963 by Lidia Wiza. They utilize the region's famous local clay beds to produce premium, highly durable stoneware that is chip-resistant and built to last. Each piece is decorated entirely by hand using intricate stamp-and-brush techniques, making every item a unique piece of functional kitchen art. This jar is in excellent vintage pre-owned condition. The glaze is exceptionally glossy, the interior is perfectly clean, and there are no chips, cracks, or crazing. It serves as a beautiful statement piece for an open kitchen shelf, a lovely addition to a farmhouse breakfast table, or a unique find for a Polish pottery collector.
