This is a charming vintage tropical fish brooch, expertly crafted from sterling silver. The piece features a detailed angelfish or butterflyfish design with textured scales and fins, showcasing a high level of artisanal detail. The reverse side is clearly hallmarked 'STERLING', confirming its material quality. The silver has developed a natural, heavy patina over time, which many collectors prefer as it highlights the recessed details and confirms its vintage age. The pin mechanism on the back appears robust and functional. This piece is a wonderful example of mid-century novelty jewelry, perfect for collectors of nautical or animal-themed accessories. Its classic aesthetic makes it a versatile statement piece for lapels, scarves, or hats. While the surface shows significant tarnish and some light scratches consistent with age, it remains in solid structural condition and could be polished to a high shine if desired.
