A celebratory piece. How about using it as a New Year's hanging decoration for Spring 2026? Half a century ago, I commissioned a renowned local woodcarver who was interested in art. The grain of the zelkova wood was used as a nest, creating a scene of cranes nesting. This is a work by Mr. Iga Sandai (Masahide Hanto) from Sanjo City, Niigata Prefecture. I paid 150,000 yen for it. It was displayed during auspicious occasions and in preparation for spring. It is a still image of cranes that conveys gentleness, tranquility, and the breath of life. I am downsizing due to moving to a smaller residence and am organizing my belongings. I am listing this item hoping someone will appreciate it. As it is an antique, I have marked it as scratched and dirty, but there are no scratches or dirt other than those due to age. It is in the realm of antiques and fine art. I kindly ask those who can appreciate the patina of age as a sign of its history to consider it. I occasionally applied walnut oil. It is in beautiful condition. The size is shown in the images. The zelkova wood has a substantial weight. I have a handmade paper box for it. The color of the zelkova wood has gradually deepened, enhancing its dignified appearance.
