【For Collectors】 1950s-1960s Vintage Electronic Sewing Machine Merritt SR-5R Made in India by Singer - Junk This is a vintage sewing machine, the Merritt SR-5R, manufactured in India by SINGER. Features: This model was produced between the 1950s and 1960s. Singer commissioned its production in India to compete with Japanese sewing machine imports of the time. ⭐️ There are scratches, dirt, and a broken needle due to age-related deterioration. ⭐️ The dedicated power cord is missing. If you intend to use it, please procure a power cord yourself. *The needle is broken and will need to be replaced. ⭐️ As power and operation have not been tested, this item is being sold as junk. ⭐️ The original box and instruction manual are not included. ⭐️ Power and operation have not been tested. Would be great for a collection or for parts! This is a compact and simple cream and red electronic sewing machine, the SR-5R, with a light. This is a sewing machine made in India from the 1950s-1960s. The sewing machine shown in the images is the Merritt SR-5R model. The Merritt brand was produced by Singer. This particular series, including related models like the SR-5R, SR-510, and SR-658, is a line of domestic electric sewing machines, often featuring Super Automatic or multi-stitch capabilities. Key Features: Stitch Selection: Features a variety of practical and decorative stitches, typically indicated by a color-coded pattern chart on the front panel. Controls: Includes dials for stitch selection and stitch length, as well as a reverse lever/button. Design: Classic free-arm design, making it easier to sew cylindrical items like sleeves and pant legs when the extension table is removed. *I received this from an acquaintance a long time ago. I am selling it as I no longer need it.
