For your consideration is a beautiful, highly collectible piece of European jewelry history: an authentic antique Art Nouveau / Celtic Revival openwork champlevé enamel disc brooch (circa 1890–1910). This exquisite medallion highlights the exceptional metalcraft of the turn-of-the-century revival periods. The front showcases a symmetrical, openwork web of stylized Celtic knots, scroll work, and trifolium motifs filled with vibrant, hand-applied champlevé enameling in historic shades of deep terra-cotta red, mustard yellow, and caramel tan. Historic Hardware & Provenance: The reverse features a heavy, dark-patinated metal backing with a highly desirable, authentic antique tube hinge and a pull-out trombone safety clasp. This specialized locking hardware strongly indicates the piece is a historic European import, most likely originating from a high-quality French or Austro-Hungarian artisan workshop of the period.
