Modified ALTEC 409B Speakers (Altec) Enclosure Height: Approx. 640mm Width: Approx. 360mm Depth: Approx. 300mm Bass reflex type Uses panels approximately 23mm thick for top/bottom, 15mm thick for sides, 13mm thick for back, and 18mm thick for front. Felt pads for scratch prevention on the bottom corners. Banana plug compatible terminals. Internal wiring uses Belden black and white wires, connected with Faston terminals. Mesh attached to the inside of the front baffle. Unit Modified ALTEC 409B 20cm Coaxial 2-way The following includes personal impressions, opinions, and anecdotes. These units were acquired and stored because they were the highly popular 409B. At first, I didn't notice, but upon closer inspection, the tweeter is indeed from a 409B, but the woofer part seems different. I suspect that the woofer from the 308, a successor to the 409 series, was combined with the 409B tweeter. I believe the rear label was carefully removed for this reason. However, the sound is strong and forward, comparable to the 409B. Given the era, vacuum tube amplifiers might offer a more nuanced experience. These have been assembled and adjusted in a sturdy cabinet with thick panels. Please check the YouTube video to hear how they sound and to confirm their condition. Due to the weight, shipping will be via Sagawa Express C.O.D. in 2 packages from Saitama Prefecture. The size is not yet determined as they are not packed, but please estimate the approximate shipping cost from the sum of the three dimensions. This is a personal listing with amateur work, not a commercial sale. Those who require after-sales support or warranties should refrain from purchasing. Please check the condition in the photos and YouTube video. If you understand and agree with the description and profile, please consider purchasing. https://youtu.be/ZpdTGU8tScc?si=_4IO52MpJXECg2ij Click here for the manufacturer's site
