YAMAHA CA-800II Integrated Amplifier Product Description The YAMAHA CA-800II is a representative vintage integrated amplifier from Yamaha. Its natural and musical sound is highly appealing, and it continues to be loved by many audio enthusiasts today. ■ Manufacturing Year Early 1974s ■ Main Features ・Class A / Class AB switching compatible ・Warm and highly detailed sound quality ・Ideal for vocals, jazz, and classical music ■ Rated Output ・Class AB: Approx. 60W+60W (8Ω) ・Class A: Approx. 10W+10W (8Ω) ■ Weight Approx. 14kg ■ External Dimensions Approx. Width 436 × Height 144 × Depth 323 mm ■ Maintenance Performed ・Inspected and serviced by technicians with specialized knowledge ・Internal dust removed and overall cleaning performed ・Relays, switches, and all contacts disassembled and cleaned ・Knobs such as volume, Bass, and Treble cleaned ・Inspection and re-soldering of lifted solder joints ・Electronic components checked and various measurements taken Serviced with the goal of bringing out the best sound quality. ■ Exterior Condition As this model was manufactured over 40 years ago, there are minor scratches due to age, but overall, I believe it is in very good condition. There are small scratches, so please check the photos for details. ■ Recommendation This unit is recommended for those who love vintage audio and classical music. Among Japanese-made vintage amplifiers, Yamaha's CA series (CA-400 to CA-1000II) are particularly difficult to maintain. Due to the considerable time that has passed since their manufacture, many components show signs of age-related deterioration. Furthermore, due to their modular construction with combined circuit boards, contact failures, lifted solder joints on double-sided boards, and pattern defects are prone to occur. Specifically, the differential transistors on the sound quality circuit and power boards often require replacement, and characteristic symptoms such as hissing, noise, and crackling are frequently observed. Therefore, thorough maintenance is difficult unless performed by a technician with extensive experience and specialized knowledge.
