This is a Limited Edition Sportsman 288 Lantern, created in 1992 with a worldwide limited production of 8,000 units, honoring Coleman's heritage. Purchased in the USA 34 years ago. It remains unused to this day. As it is an unused item, there is no gasoline odor, and we recommend using it as an interior decoration, taking advantage of its mirror finish. It would also make a great addition to your lantern collection. Please refer to the photos. Below is an excerpt from the description on the outer box: **Coleman** In keeping with the great tradition of the outdoors, Coleman has produced the Limited Edition Sportsman 288 Lantern. This limited edition lantern is meticulously crafted using the finest materials and craftsmanship. From the nickel chrome finish to the finely detailed globe (glass part) and decorative decals, every detail has been carefully considered. This lantern is not just a display item; it is a fully functional Coleman fuel-powered Model 288 lantern. Production is limited to a maximum of 8,000 units. Each lantern is individually numbered below the font decal. This limited edition lantern depicts two of the most enjoyed outdoor activities. A hunter surveying a field full of game with his trusted dog before the hunt. A trophy bass caught on many fishing trips. The above is from the instruction manual. A black carrying case is included to protect the lantern from damage during transport.
