To those considering purchasing a regulator set on Mercari: Advice from a former instructor. First, once a regulator has been submerged, it doesn't make much difference whether it was used once or fifty times. Even if the internal condition is poor due to lack of maintenance, it's not visible, so the number of uses is unreliable. Any regulator that has been submerged must be overhauled (around 20,000-40,000 yen? depending on the quality of parts replaced, high-pressure hoses are expensive) before use. Even a regulator used once after an overhaul should be treated the same. Beginners, in particular, often don't fully drain water when sealing the rubber cover of the first stage, so it's not reassuring. Even with new, unused items, there can be age-related degradation, so any item over a year old should be tested with air before use. Ideally, it's best to have it overhauled for peace of mind. Replacing just the O-rings might cost around 20,000 yen, depending on the manufacturer. I'm not sure of the current market price for overhauls, so please research it yourself. With that in mind, here is the description for this product. Super bargain! New, unused. Never been used. It's still in perfect condition. Although it has never been used, please test it with air before use. If you are concerned, please have it overhauled before use. New, this item would easily cost over 150,000 yen. Even with an overhaul, this is a very good deal. Certified by a former diving instructor. Sherwood regulators are lightweight, durable, and hard to break, making them excellent for ice diving. I actually used the same model for ice diving.
