As you can see, this is a masterpiece with exquisite tiger-patterned burl wood running straight from the head to the tailpiece. Depending on the viewing angle, the large burl wood appears to float and shimmer, creating a fantastical and beautiful sight. This is a superb, dignified neck piece that will appeal to connoisseurs. It is difficult to convey this in photographs, and I can only say that it is truly wonderful and must be seen with the naked eye. Furthermore, the two-piece construction with staggered upper and lower grooves for the tenon shows the highest level of craftsmanship commensurate with the quality of the wood, conveying an innate sense of quality and dignity. Most importantly, this is an extremely rare individual piece with a seven-tenths size body, the largest size for a shamisen. Modern mass-produced instruments are standardized to a five-tenths size, and anything larger than six-tenths is a custom order, with installation costs starting at approximately ¥350,000 and up. Even if you were to try to install a new body on your existing shamisen, the cost would likely be prohibitive. Given its extreme rarity, it is highly unlikely to appear on the market again. We highly recommend that those who have been searching for such an item for many years seize this opportunity without hesitation. Total length: approx. 102 cm Neck Staggered two-piece groove, gold inlay (superb quality) Face width: approx. 3.0 - 3.2 cm Side width: approx. 3.45 cm Overlap: approx. 3.45 cm Fukurin: K9 mark Body Superb child-bearing Ayasugi body, seven-tenths size Long side: approx. 22.0 cm Short side: approx. 20.4 cm (Please refer to the posted images with measurements) *Reference: Five-tenths size (defined dimensions) Long side: 21.2 cm Short side: 19.5 cm Pegs: Highest quality, Soroku (beautiful condition) Accessories: Hard case (with lock) Hon-Tsugaru lacquer body cover and head cover (good condition, for six-tenths to seven-tenths size) *Since commercially available five-tenths size body covers will not fit this item, they are included. As it has been regularly maintained, it does not feel old despite being used. Both the neck and body have a lustrous finish overall. There may be some minor scratches, but no noticeable ones, and the condition is good, so it would not be an exaggeration to describe it as beautiful. (Note: The tip of the head has been repaired for a minor chip, but it is not noticeable. Please refer to the image.) The neck surface has some partial string wear that is difficult to call kanberi (grooving), but it is relatively clean. However, as perceptions may vary, please check the images. (Note: The instrument is photographed without strings to make the condition of the neck surface easier to see.) Click here for the manufacturer's site
