Ultra Rare Limited Edition MIZUNO PRO Ichiichi Kubota Retirement Commemorative Bat MAGOKORO BAT Mizuno Technics Co., Ltd. Pro Bat Meister. This item was sold in a limited quantity to commemorate the retirement of bat craftsman Ichiichi Kubota, who was recognized as a Living National Treasure in 2003. He was consistently involved in bat manufacturing [1]. He had no baseball experience [1]. He began manufacturing bats for professional baseball players around 1965 [1] and crafted bats for players such as Hiromitsu Ochiai, Randy Bass, Sachio Kinugasa, Ichiro, Hideki Matsui, and Pete Rose [1][3][4]. In 2000, he applied for Mizuno's early retirement program but was persuaded to stay to train successors [1]. In 2003, he was selected as a Living National Treasure. In 2005, he received the Medal with Purple Ribbon. In 2014, he retired as a bat craftsman. He was the leading figure in baseball bat manufacturing in Japan, skilled in all processes from wood selection to shaping and polishing. He could craft bats tailored to each player's specifications with perfect accuracy in a short time of 10 to 15 minutes. This is a bat that can absolutely never be obtained now. New, unopened. The cardboard box has scuffs and dirt. Due to age and amateur storage, please understand and refrain from purchasing if you are sensitive. If you wish to negotiate the price, please be sure to state your desired purchase price. Please note that we may not be able to respond immediately after a price change or reduction. We may also delete comments if no price is indicated. As a general rule, we do not hold items. For product management and to prevent trouble, we do not accept returns. You can change to Mercari delivery at the buyer's expense. Please request the change in the comment section and purchase after the price has been adjusted. We sincerely apologize, but we ask that individuals purchasing for proxy or resale purposes refrain from buying. Please take this precious bat into your hands. Click here for the manufacturer's site
