French Vintage Toy Piano Michelsonne The Michelsonne is known as the King of Toy Pianos and is highly popular worldwide among professional musicians. ■ Michelsonne Paris: Produced in France by Victor Michel (1904-1983) between 1939 and 1970. As production ceased over 50 years ago, it is now primarily available only in antique markets. Its beautiful, sweet tone, charming resonance, and unique reverberation have captivated countless individuals. Its high level of craftsmanship is cherished by numerous musicians and enthusiasts worldwide. This upright model features 20 keys that fold away, covering one and a half octaves. It is compact and easy to carry. Dimensions (closed): 274mm (H) x 334mm (W) x 110mm (D) Dimensions (open): 274mm (H) x 334mm (W) x 180mm (D) Weight: Approximately 2.2kg This is an exceptionally beautiful and pristine example, suitable for professional performance, with the characteristic bell-like tone of the Michelsonne. Features plastic hammers. The keys are in excellent condition and produce a charming sound. The sound projection is remarkable; it produces a surprisingly loud volume for a toy piano. It is xylophone-type, so tuning is not required. All keys produce sound properly. This piano was acquired directly from Linda Michel, the daughter of the maker, Victor Michel. The young girl depicted on the Michelsonne packaging is Linda herself. While the music stand on this piano is red, the key cover has been custom-painted to Linda's preference, making it a unique and rare piece. The absence of side panel supports resembles the streamlined design of later models and has been neatly removed. Toy pianos with such excellent sound and resonance are rare. It can be displayed as a decorative piece or used as a professional instrument for performance. The keys and opening/closing handles are made of metal, and it is believed to have been produced in the mid-1960s. There is no significant damage to note. However, as it is approximately 60 years old, it is not in perfect condition. Please refer to the images. Although classified as a toy piano, it is widely used as a serious musical instrument rather than a mere toy. This piano can be performed live in halls and live houses as is. Studio performances and recordings are also possible. Please refrain from purchasing if you are seeking absolute perfection in every detail. Thank you for your understanding.
