| Product details |
This is a bronze statue of Kannon by Koun Takamura. The elegant posture, flowing drapery, and serene, compassionate expression are striking. The lotus bud held in its hand is known as a symbol of enlightenment, representing the expansion of Buddha's wisdom and compassion, and is a symbol of mercy and salvation. Size: Height: 40cm Width: 12cm Depth: 12cm Weight: 3.2kg There are age-related discolorations and mold throughout the statue. However, the face was lightly polished with a soft cloth for the purpose of taking product photos. As you can see, a beautiful golden hue shines through. The material is believed to be pure copper. Koun Takamura was a pioneer of modern Japanese sculpture, creating many works that combined traditional wood carving techniques with Western realistic expressions. His Buddhist statues are characterized by their delicate craftsmanship and warm expressions. This statue of Sho-Kannon also features a metallic finish, giving it a luxurious sheen while also conveying a sense of timeless charm. It bears the inscription of Koun Takamura's work, and its sculptural beauty is reminiscent of his style. #OZYC Art Click here for the manufacturer's site
