This is a medical device used to measure SpO2 (functional oxygen saturation) in arterial blood through the skin by shining light on the fingertip or other areas, without the need for blood sampling. It utilizes the property that hemoglobin turns red when it binds with oxygen, and measures SpO2 from the degree of redness of the blood. Pulse oximeters also measure pulse rate simultaneously. Even if there is a slight change in SpO2, if the pulse rate is low, it may be due to other factors causing the low pulse rate. Use under the guidance of a doctor, and do not make easy personal judgments about the measurement results; consult your primary physician or a medical institution.
