This is fine powder of bamboo charcoal, made by burning bamboo from the maintenance of overgrown bamboo forests. Finely ground bamboo charcoal is easy to use for gardening and can also be used to deodorize and promote fermentation in compost. Therefore, the charcoal was pounded into powder, but it has not been sifted, so fine powder is mixed in. It is especially ideal for succulent plant materials. [About the product] Bamboo charcoal will be packed as much as possible into a 60-size cardboard box and shipped. The first photo shows the actual packaging. [About the quantity] The weight in the first photo is approximately 1kg. [Please confirm] Fine powder is mixed in. (See photos 2 and 3) Due to open burning, some soil, fallen leaves, etc. may be mixed in. Please understand this in advance. [Characteristics of bamboo charcoal in gardening] Bamboo charcoal is a sustainable material that improves soil in gardening, with the main effects being improvement of aeration, water retention, and drainage, increase in beneficial microorganisms, and supply of minerals. By mixing 10-15% into the soil, it can help prevent root rot, improve fertilizer retention, and reduce pests and diseases, contributing to the cultivation of strong plants. ① Improvement of physical properties (granulation): Bamboo charcoal is porous (has many fine holes) and creates gaps when mixed with soil, improving aeration and drainage. At the same time, the pores retain moisture, improving water retention. ② Improvement of biological properties (habitat for microorganisms): The fine holes serve as habitats for microorganisms, promoting the proliferation of beneficial microorganisms such as mycorrhizal fungi that transport nutrients to roots. ③ Improvement of chemical properties (minerals and pH adjustment): Rich in minerals essential for plant growth, such as silicon and potassium. It has the effect of neutralizing and improving acidic soil. It improves fertilizer retention and prevents fertilizer runoff. ④ Other effects: It adsorbs and decomposes harmful substances, helping to reduce continuous cropping disorder. Laying it around the base of plants helps retain moisture, prevent drying, and suppress weeds. [How to use bamboo charcoal and recommended amount] Mixing ratio: Mix approximately 10-15% by volume with soil. Acidic soil/clay soil: Mix slightly more than the above amount to improve the soil. Potting base material: Laying it at the bottom of planters improves aeration and drainage. Caution: If too much is added, the alkalinity may become too high. #gardening #soil improvement #succulents Click here for the manufacturer's site
