This is a cow bone scraper that can be conveniently used for paper crafts such as bookbinding and cartonnage, as well as leather crafts. #Click here for Naritaro's other agate scrapers, cow bone scrapers, etc. ■ Unlike plastic scrapers, this product will not melt or wear down due to friction with leather, cloth, or paper, so you can use it with confidence. ■ While made of durable material, it can be easily shaped to your desired form by sanding with sandpaper, etc. ?? As this product is made from a biologically derived material, there may be chips, warping, bending, uneven thickness, or other dimensional errors. Please understand this in advance. ?? The surface of the tip of this product is roughly finished. This product is intended for those who will shape it to their liking using sandpaper, etc., so please refrain from purchasing if you are looking for a tool that is ready to use immediately. ?? As you sand it down, the thinned edges may become prone to chipping, so we recommend an oil treatment by soaking it in a drying oil such as linseed oil or perilla oil. The oil will soak in and harden through oxidation, reinforcing the scraper. You can also use linseed oil or perilla oil sold for food use for this treatment, but be aware that some oils use varieties with a low iodine value (ease of oxidation and hardening). Linseed oil for oil painting or linseed oil/perilla oil for wood finishing will ensure a reliable treatment. For more details, please search the web for terms like bone scraper oil treatment to find information.
