Whetstone Amakusa Whetstone Special Water Medium White Natural Whetstone Type 10 ?Type 10 Approx. 21.5×9×7 Approx. 3280g #Compare with Amakusa Whetstones from Amakusa Treasure Island. This is an Amakusa whetstone that is between red (Torato) and high white. It is becoming difficult to mine high white Amakusa whetstones. Therefore, we have introduced a hybrid whetstone... Medium White. It is also more affordable than high white. It falls into the medium grit category. We believe it is suitable for sharpening kitchen knives, carpentry tools, and agricultural machinery. You can use any surface for sharpening. As it is a natural stone, there may be hard spots, soft spots, and air bubbles. Air bubbles are preferred as they hold the slurry. There may be minor chips or, rarely, cracks. We cannot offer returns or exchanges for these. Please purchase only if you understand the nature of natural stones. [Reference Explanation] Amakusa whetstones are produced from the island of Kami-Amakusa Town, Oyano, Kumamoto Prefecture, a place associated with Amakusa Shiro's war funds. They have long been favored for sharpening kitchen knives, carpentry tools, and agricultural tools. Recently, due to the spread of artificial whetstones and the aging of producers, they have become less common in the market. This time, we are delivering them directly from Amakusa to those who can use them. *Grit size varies for each natural whetstone. ◎Torato (Red) Approx. grit 500-800 ◎Medium White (Special Water) Between red and white, Chujiro ◎High White (Jyo-haku White) Approx. grit 1000 [Reference Sizes] ?Type 10 Approx. 21.5×9×7 Approx. 3200g ?Type 15 Approx. 21.5×7×6 Approx. 2200g ?Type 20 Approx. 20.5×7×5 Approx. 1700g (Special order) ?Type 30 Approx. 19.5×6×4 Approx. 1130g ?Type 60 Approx. 16.5×4.5×3 Approx. 600g (White only) ?Type 80 Approx. 15×4×3 Approx. 420g (Unsorted) #Whetstone #AmakusaWhetstone #NaturalWhetstone #WhetstoneForSharpeningKnives #WhetstoneForSharpeningSickles #AmakusaShiro #WoodGrainStone #Torato #Bisuito #Oyano *We plan to ship via Yu-Pack. *Please let us know if you prefer anonymous shipping (+100 yen). *This is an affordable whetstone for general use, so please refrain from asking advanced questions.
