This is a masterpiece created by Knipex, praised as an evolved monkey wrench. It is exceptionally versatile, handling tasks such as gripping, turning, bending, and crushing, making it ideal for onboard tools for emergencies or disaster preparedness. While many tools like spanners and monkey wrenches grip the corners of bolts and nuts to turn them, this tool generates ten times the gripping force. Its structure applies pressure to the surface while turning, making it perfect for finishing work where you don't want to scratch materials like non-ferrous metal piping nuts (including aluminum and brass) or plated bolts. The leverage mechanism, combined with the turning force, allows for high-torque work without the jaws opening and potentially damaging the corners of bolts and nuts. The gripping surfaces have no serrations or teeth, allowing it to securely grip objects using only the pressure and friction generated by the 10x leverage mechanism, functioning as a power gripping plier. Compared to a standard 200mm monkey wrench with an opening of 25-30mm, this plier wrench can handle bolts and nuts up to 35mm across flats. Once the pivot point is set, it can be opened and closed like pliers (ratcheting mechanism), allowing for continuous rapid turning without needing to remove and reinsert the tool. It enables faster and more secure work than monkey wrenches or spanners, even in situations like pipe work where access from the side is required. Similar to the company's Cobra series, the pivot point is free while the push button is pressed, and it locks into place when the button is released at the optimal position, allowing for instant size adjustment.
