This is a collection of various bee specimens, including the Asian giant hornet. Collected outdoors in Niigata Prefecture between September and November 2024. Insects were killed and preserved using ethyl acetate nail polish remover gas, then dried. Specimens included: Asian giant hornet (female) - 1 Golden-haired wasp - 1 Great cicada killer - 1 Carpenter bee - 1 (no sting mark) Japanese cicada killer - 1 Japanese honey bee - 1 Hornet - 1 Total: 7 specimens Please note that the insect names are based on amateur research and may be incorrect. To ensure longevity, after drying, the specimens were frozen for over 2 days (to kill any remaining insects and prevent further damage). They are sealed in a plastic case with a desiccant and taped shut to prevent pests from entering and causing damage. These would be great for collections or as materials for independent research projects. The specimens will be shipped fixed with insect pins on a styrofoam board inside a display plastic case as shown in the photos. The plastic case is taped shut; please remove the tape to open it. After opening, it is recommended to re-seal the case with tape to prevent pests from entering and damaging the specimens. The item will be shipped via RakuRaku Mercari便 with cushioning material and a fragile sticker. However, we cannot be held responsible for any damage that may occur during transit. Please only purchase if you understand and accept this risk. If you purchase two of these plastic case specimen sets, we will offer a discount of approximately 500 yen on shipping.
