This is a seedling of *Distichia*. It is planted in a plastic pot and will be shipped as is. This is the 5th year since it was grown from seed. It was not listed before because it grew slowly and was small. This listing is to make space. This *Distichia* is a summer-growing type. The leaves are just starting to emerge. Last year, 3-4 leaves emerged, so I expect the same or more this year. The bulbous part has shrunk considerably because it was brought indoors and kept dry during the winter. The upper half of the bulbous part visible in the photo is just the skin, but it will swell when it absorbs water. *Buphan* is a hardy plant, so if you acclimate it to your home environment starting now, its growth will be unstoppable once the leaves begin to unfurl. In my home, once the leaves start to emerge, I grow it outdoors in direct sunlight, exposed to the rain. The growing location is a south-facing balcony. The soil is formulated to dry easily, but it contains organic matter (like bark compost), so springtails and other insects often appear. If this is a concern, please repot it with your preferred soil mix. Because compost is included, there is also fine soil. I have been using this soil without any root rot issues.
