This is an aneroid barometer, likely from around the 1950s, purchased at a flea market in Denmark. Its chic atmosphere, characteristic of antique wood, makes it a striking and interesting piece as wall decor. Diameter: 13.8 cm. The needle moves daily, indicating it is functional, but the readings differ from actual barometric pressure reported in the news. Also, the unit of measurement for this era is mmHg, not hectopascals. There is no manufacturer's mark, but the Danish text suggests it is from Denmark. While the manufacturing year is uncertain, barometers with only mmHg units and no millibar scale are often from around the 1950s. For rarer pieces from the 19th to early 20th century, the readings are typically in two digits, such as 77 or 78, omitting a zero. There are no particularly noticeable scratches or damage, but there are scuffs on the wood and cloudiness on the glass consistent with age. It is as shown in the photos.
