【Bonsai Tools】 This is an old Okubo iron shear. It was very rusty, but I have maintained it and am now offering it for sale. It is unmarked and the place of origin is unknown, but I believe it is hand-forged. These shears have a very substantial and handmade feel. It is thought to have been made using Japan's traditional forging technique, Hizukuri, which involves hammering and forging steel. The blade is also well-sharpened, and I believe it to be an excellent piece. ● I am currently listing tools from my father, who was a devoted user of Shokoku brand shears among bonsai artists. I also enjoy collecting old tools myself, maintaining them, and then passing them on. ● It is my personal belief that older blades and bonsai tools are better. Naturally, new items are made under pressure of rising raw material costs and cost-cutting measures. Furthermore, the number of craftsmen who can produce them is decreasing due to aging, making production difficult. ● I believe that older items prioritize quality alone, using luxurious materials without hesitation, and showcasing the craftsman's skill. 【Vintage Item】【Collection Release】 ● These are traditional Okubo shears (gardening shears) used for pruning garden trees and bonsai. Uses: Pruning thin branches, tending to flowers and grasses, detailed work on bonsai, etc. Features: The large ring-shaped handles, known as warabite, are characteristic and suitable for fine work. Length: Approximately 190 mm Weight: Approximately 225g ● Weighing approximately 225g, these shears are heavy and solidly constructed. ● I acquired them in a rusty condition and have personally removed the rust and maintained them for use. The blades are perfectly sharpened. ● These are a great bargain for those who don't mind a little rust. ● Furthermore, you can develop a deeper attachment to them by continuing to remove rust and use them, performing maintenance as you go. ● If you are looking for something inexpensive, I recommend choosing affordable overseas products from places like Amazon. ● I am offering these at a low price to be passed on to someone who understands the value of fine blades. ● The craftsmanship appears to have been excellent, and these are very good tools with a solid construction. ● Images and the actual item take precedence over the title and description. Please be sure to carefully examine the images yourself before ordering. ● These shears were left unattended for a long time and became rusty. I have maintained them myself. They have no problem cutting branches, but everyone has their own preferences. Please consider them with the understanding that you may want to perform further maintenance yourself. ● Please refrain from purchasing if you are sensitive about condition. - Type: Bonsai Shears - Design: Okubo Shears - Use: All-purpose pruning type - Manufacturer: Unknown - Quantity: 1 piece Click here for the manufacturer's site
