Naoto Okada French Bowl Thank you for looking. I am selling this item because I am downsizing my ceramics collection due to a move and wish to pass it on to someone who will cherish it. This is a cafe au lait bowl by Naoto Okada. It has a smooth, gently curved design with no sharp edges on the exterior. It is a piece that embodies the quiet yet powerful beauty of white porcelain, which leads to his current style. Artist: Naoto Okada Several years ago, I had the opportunity to meet Mr. Okada himself at his solo exhibition in Kudanshita Hanada, and he spoke directly to me about the cracks and chips of this bowl. When I asked about its condition, Mr. Okada smiled and said, The challenge is how far you can continue to use it from this state. ^_^ Deeply moved by his words, I have cherished it on my shelf for a long time, not as an item for practical use, but as an object that allows me to feel the artist's spirit. Purchased around 2011, this is a precious piece that allows you to feel Mr. Okada's artistic journey. The aesthetic of appreciating the chips and cracks in Naoto Okada's bowls as they are. Why not redefine this bowl not as a mere damaged vessel, but as your own special piece? [Condition] ? Cracks: Present on the inside and outside of the bowl. ? Chip: There is a chip on the foot (bottom part). ? As the artist himself said, this condition is recommended for those who are willing to enjoy and nurture it as the history of the vessel, or for those who wish to cherish it as a collectible. ? Make it your own unique piece Repair the chipped part with gold and repurpose it as a matcha bowl or an everyday rice bowl. We are looking for someone who will nurture it into a one-of-a-kind piece that makes even the scars feel endearing. [Details] ? Artist: Naoto Okada ? Type: Cafe au lait bowl ? Material: Pottery (white porcelain) ? Diameter: 13.5 cm ? Height: 8 cm [Shipping and Other Information] ? The item will be carefully packed with cushioning material to prevent further damage during shipping. ? As this is a delicate item, please only purchase if you understand the characteristics of artist-made pieces and used goods. ? Please refrain from price reductions due to shipping costs.
